Collaborative Robotics in Practice: 1-Day Workshop by ViTrox & APulsar

Start your morning with a collaborative robot you have never programmed, and finish the day with a fully functioning automated work cell. This is the core challenge of “Collaborative Robotics in Practice,” a new 1-day hands-on workshop organized by ViTrox Academy and supported by APulsar Technologies. Jointly developed by training specialists from both ViTrox and APulsar, this intensive educational program is built entirely around the DOBOT robotic arm, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world smart manufacturing.

Not Just Slides: A Day of True Practice

Forget about sitting through endless presentations. This 1-day workshop is strictly about hands-on practice. Using the DOBOT robotic arm, participants will learn exactly how robots, end-of-arm tooling, sensors, and conveyors work together to perform automated tasks within a unified robotic work cell. The curriculum is designed to progress naturally from basic pick-and-place operations to complex, sensor-driven sorting and conveyor-based automation workflows. The entire workshop emphasizes practical implementation, problem-solving, and system integration, while also providing participants with exposure to emerging technologies like AI-assisted robotic applications.

Workshop Program

The daily agenda is packed with guided exercises that lead straight into real-world applications:

  • Introduction & Basics: Getting familiar with DOBOT hardware, workspace coordinates, and tooling.
  • Fundamental Programming: Moving the robot and executing pick-and-place tasks.
  • Programming Logic: Implementing variables, loops, conditions, and functions for automation.
  • Sensor & Conveyor Integration: Coordinating the robot with external hardware for automated sorting.
  • The Automation Challenge: A final team-based exercise where participants design, implement, and demonstrate a functional robotic manufacturing work cell from scratch.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the workshop, attendees will be able to:

  • Understand the fundamental components and operation of a collaborative robotic system.
  • Program robotic applications using Blockly-based programming and the DOBOT Python coding environment.
  • Apply motion commands, variables, operators, loops, and functions in robot programs.
  • Develop and optimize pick-and-place applications for automated workflows.
  • Integrate sensors and conveyors to implement automated sorting solutions.
  • Develop and test an integrated robotic automation solution through a hands-on challenge.

Target Audience & Prerequisites

This program is tailored for:

  • Automation, equipment, test, and manufacturing engineers who are planning to apply robotics.
  • Software and controls engineers moving into smart manufacturing applications.
  • Technical leads and project engineers evaluating cobots for their operations.
  • Engineering educators and graduates who want a practical foundation in collaborative robotics.

Prerequisites: Attendees should have general programming experience in any language (understanding variables, loops, conditions, and functions). A basic technical or engineering background is an advantage, but not required.
