Dobot is a robotics technology company founded in 2015 in Shenzhen, China. The company develops desktop robotic arms, collaborative robots, vision systems, AGVs, and automation software for education, research, and industrial applications. Over the last decade, Dobot has grown from a startup with a crowdfunded prototype to one of China’s most recognised robotics manufacturers.
Dobot’s first major breakthrough came in 2015 with the launch of the world’s first desktop-grade robotic arm, which became a global crowdfunding success. In the following years, Dobot released key platforms such as Dobot Magician, Magician Lite, DOBOT M1, and later MG400, building a complete ecosystem for training, R&D, and light industrial automation.
Between 2016 and 2020, Dobot introduced new robotic platforms and received multiple international awards, including the German iF Design Award, the Red Dot Design Award, the CES Innovation Award, and the Capek Prize for Technological Innovation. In 2017, Dobot became the only Chinese robotics company invited to present at Google I/O, highlighting its role in accessible STEM and AI-ready robotics.
From 2020 onwards, Dobot expanded its collaborative robot line with the CR3, CR5, CR7, CR10, CR12, CR16, and later CR20A, covering payloads from 0.5 kg to 20 kg. During this period, Dobot became China’s No.1 industrial robot exporter for several consecutive years and was recognised as a national “Little Giant” specialised enterprise.
In 2022 and 2023, Dobot launched industry-focused process packages for screwdriving, welding, and palletizing, released the Nova 6-axis series for the retail market, manufactured its 10,000th robot, and introduced new solutions such as the VX500 vision camera and the CRA series. Dobot also strengthened its R&D capabilities by opening subsidiaries in Suzhou and Hong Kong.
In 2024, Dobot expanded into AI-driven robotics and training platforms, releasing the X-trainer AI Data Collection and Training System, and introduced next-generation welding and palletizing solutions. By late 2024, Dobot Robotics became officially listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (Stock Code: 2432.HK).
In 2025, Dobot entered the embodied intelligent robotics domain with the launch of Atom, a humanoid robot designed for dexterous manipulation and straight-knee walking. The company also joined NVIDIA’s Physics-AI Global Ecosystem Partners.
Today, Dobot provides integrated automation solutions for schools, universities, R&D laboratories, SMEs, manufacturing lines, and training centers. Its portfolio includes collaborative robots, desktop robots, AGVs, vision systems, grippers, linear rails, and software tools designed for fast deployment and easy integration. Dobot was recognised by CB Insights as one of the 80 most investment-worthy robotics companies worldwide.
APulsar Technologies is an official Dobot distributor in Malaysia, offering product selection guidance, demonstrations, and local post-sales support for both educational and industrial Dobot product lines.
