The EDS-205A Series 5-port industrial Ethernet switches support IEEE 802.3 and IEEE 802.3u/x. They operate in 10/100 Mbps full or half duplex and feature MDI/MDI-X auto-sensing. The switches accept 12/24/48 VDC (9.6 to 60 VDC) redundant power inputs. You can connect both power sources at the same time for higher reliability.
Built for harsh industrial environments, the EDS-205A meets DNV/LR/ABS/NK maritime standards and EN 50121-4/NEMA TS2 requirements for railways, highways, and mobile applications. It is also certified for hazardous locations (Class I Div. 2, ATEX Zone 2, IECEx) and complies with FCC, UL, and CE standards.
Models are available with a standard operating temperature of -10 to 60°C, or a wide range of -40 to 75°C. Each unit passes a full burn-in test to ensure it meets industrial automation demands. DIP switches allow you to enable or disable broadcast storm protection and Quality of Service. This gives you more flexibility in configuring your network.
The EDS-205A Series also supports PROFINET Conformance Class A (CC-A), making it ready for integration into PROFINET networks.

| Note: When using a 40 km single-mode fiber transceiver over short distances, we highly recommend installing an attenuator to prevent damaging the transceiver due to excessive optical power. Note: To reach the “typical distance” of a fiber transceiver, the Link Budget (dB) should be greater than the combined Dispersion Penalty (dB) and Total Link Loss (dB). |
