Adjustable Termination and Pull High/Low Resistors

Critical environments may need termination resistors to prevent serial signal reflection. When using termination resistors, you must set pull high/low resistors correctly to prevent electrical signal corruption. No universal set of resistor values works in all environments. The NPort 5100 device servers include jumpers for adjusting termination and pull high/low resistor values for each serial port.

Easy to Troubleshoot

NPort 5100 device servers support SNMP for monitoring all units over Ethernet. You can configure each unit to send trap messages automatically to the SNMP manager when user-defined errors occur. Users without SNMP managers can receive email alerts instead. Define alert triggers using Moxa’s Windows utility or the web console. For example, alerts can trigger from warm starts, cold starts, or password changes.
