The ioLogik E1200 Series supports the most widely used protocols for retrieving I/O data, making it suitable for diverse applications. IT engineers often use SNMP or RESTful API, while OT engineers prefer Modbus and EtherNet/IP.
With Moxa’s Smart I/O, both IT and OT teams can retrieve data from the same device. The E1200 speaks six protocols: Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and Moxa AOPC for OT; SNMP, RESTful API, and Moxa MXIO library for IT. It can retrieve data and convert it into any of these protocols simultaneously, ensuring quick and flexible integration.
The E1200 features two switched Ethernet ports for downstream and upstream connections. This enables expandable daisy-chained Ethernet I/O arrays without extra switches.
You can connect devices downstream to local equipment or upstream to a control server. This setup works well in factory automation, security and surveillance, or tunnel systems. Daisy-chaining increases expandability and lowers costs by reducing switches, cabling, and labor.
In remote automation, the control room and sensors are often far apart. Long-distance wiring is expensive and complex.
Peer-to-peer networking maps a pair of ioLogik modules so that input values are sent directly to output channels. This eliminates extra wiring and simplifies installation.
Many Modbus devices use fixed addresses, which can slow setup. You must locate each device’s networking details, such as I/O channels or vendor-specific addresses, before configuring a SCADA or PLC.
The E1200 supports user-definable Modbus TCP addressing, so you simply set the function and address map to match your system, reducing setup time.
When paired with MX-AOPC UA Server, the E1200 can push event data directly to a SCADA system. Unlike polling, push technology sends updates only when changes or configured events occur. This reduces data traffic while increasing accuracy.
